PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Responsible for developing and performing all levels of equipment testing and analysis using recognized methodologies, industry standards, and technical experience.  This position is also responsible for providing technical support, mentoring, and training of Lab Tech I and Lab Tech II technicians.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and perform material tests and analysis of plant components, systems, and parts
  • Produce accurate test reports and establishes acceptability of results as required in the Exelon PowerLabs Quality Assurance Manual. 
  • Interact with clients and vendors on technical projects. 
  • Process vendor source verifications for testing  
  • Perform corrective / routine maintenance and/or repair of PowerLabs and customer equipment. 
  • Plan, support, and perform customer onsite testing that may involve regional travel. 

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates degree, or 60 credits toward a BS degree in a technical field, or a high school degree with a minimum of six years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in material analysis specimen preparation and testing
  • Demonstrated aptitude in chemical, electrical, mechanical or metallurgical testing, analysis or basic engineering principles
  • Ability to gain unescorted access to Exelon Nuclear Stations
  • Good oral and written communication skills


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Nuclear plant experience or Radiation protection experience

Position Scope

A  Lab Tech III is an advanced level technician capable of developing, performing, and approving testing and analysis of plant components and parts.  Technicians in this position have the ability mentor, train, and qualify other technicians, perform the PowerLabs Corrective Action Process and other quality program processes, demonstrate strong technical leadership, teamwork, have good communication skills, and have consistent safety program engagement
