PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Through provision of Governance, Oversight, Support and Perform functions of Fleet Performance Evaluation Programs, Range activities, and FOF and other Inspections, ensure the sites have and maintain the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully implement their Protective Strategies and execute all functions needed for successful FOF and other NRC Inspections. This will include maintaining standardized, high quality range instruction and operation on safely operated ranges, as well as maintaining current Armorer programs. Utilizing tactical expertise, this individual will also provide tactics input as needed for Fleet or Industry initiatives to support future defensive strategy changes. Assignment will be at the MidWest Region (headquarters located in Warrenville, IL (Cantera).


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Provide Governance, Oversight, Support and Perform (GOSP) functions for the Fleet Performance Evaluation Program drills and exercises, limited scope tactical response drills and tactical training, with the intent of ensuring that all sites maintain the tactical proficiency required to successfully implement the individual site protective strategy. Ensure that all sites possess the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to both implement their protective strategy and to perform all required functions, such as control functions and measures, command, control and communications, effective weapons manipulation, etc., Manage or modify existing programs and processes, or modify as needed, to ensure the requisite training and tools are in place for long term retention.
  • Provide GOSP functions for site range masters, range instructors and range training. Goal is standardized, high quality range instruction on safely operated ranges that use industry leading standard operating procedures. Additionally, interface with NRA or other national agency to obtain and maintain approval for courses of fire and ensure courses of fire support security organization’s ability to execute the protective strategy.
  • Provide GOSP for Force on Force and other NRC Inspections as needed, to include interface with the NRC teams, to ensure site is adequately performing.
  • Provide GOSP functions of station armorers, including maintenance, supplemental purchases, and equipment replacement.
  • Work with Defensive Strategy and Tactics Manager to evaluate and develop tactical solutions in support of site or Fleet initiatives to modify existing Defensive Strategies.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable area with 10 years military Special Operations experience, or equivalent, to include experience with other US Government sponsored Force Protection, Physical Security, or other Paramilitary activities in high threat environments
  • OR
  • Associate’s degree with 12 years military Special Operations experience, or equivalent, to include experience with other US Government sponsored Force Protection, Physical Security, or other Paramilitary activities in high threat environments
  • OR
  • High School Diploma or GED with 15 years military Special Operations experience, or equivalent, to include experience with other US Government sponsored Force Protection, Physical Security, or other Paramilitary activities in high threat environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, work independently, and exercise sound judgment / discretion to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrable understanding of Tactics, Techniques and Procedures used to mitigate both the DBT Adversary and various current terrorist and other threats
  • Experience with Defensive Strategy development and implementation in high threat environments

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable area and 15 years overall Defensive Strategy and secure facility tactical training experience.
  • Experience with NRC evaluated Force on Force exercises and other NRC Security Inspections.
  • 3-5 years security supervisory or managerial experience in high threat environments.
  • 3 years minimum experience with Firearms Range activities, to include tactical courses of fire and other Training and Qualification requirements, as a range instructor or range master.
  • Firearms knowledge and proficiency, both live fire and MILES, and a strong understanding of various firearms related equipment and technology.
  • Business acumen such as managing budgets preferred. Project management skills a plus.
  • Experience with development and maintenance of armorer and other security equipment programs.
